What are your Valentine’s Day plans? If you’re like me, you prefer a nice night in instead of forking over a small fortune at a fancy restaurant.
As a mom to three young kids, it can be hard to squeeze in date nights, so more often than not, my husband and I settle for movies and binge watching our favorite T.V. shows when the kiddos go to sleep. And while I’m not a huge chick flick fan, there’s something to be said for watching a romantic movie around Valentine’s Day, especially if you have a comfy home theater with a 4K laser T.V.
Take a look at some of the best romantic movies you should watch for Valentine’s Day 2023!
Shotgun Wedding
Shotgun Wedding was just released on Amazon Video, and I have to say, it’s a blast! A blend of comedy, romance, and action, Shotgun Wedding stars Josh Duhamel and Jennifer Lopez. In the movie, their characters host a destination wedding that quickly goes off the rails when it’s hijacked by pirates. It’s a fun movie and has something for everyone. Watch it on a large projector, like the VAVA Chroma or VAVA 4K projector for a true cinematic experience.
Your Place or Mine
Released just in time for Valentine’s Day 2023, Your Place or Mine follows long distance friends Debbie (Reese Witherspoon) and Peter (Ashton Kutcher). Debbie is a single mom living in Los Angeles who craves routine and structure, while Peter embraces change in New York. In the film, the friends agree to swap lives for a week, taking viewers for a wildly fun, comedic ride. In the end, Peter and Debbie realize what they were looking for all along was each other. Your Place or Mine debuts on Netflix on February 10.
Valentine’s Day
An oldie but a goodie is Valentine’s Day. Released in 2010, Valentine’s Day is a star-studded romantic comedy jam packed with big names like Bradley Cooper, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx, and so many more. The movie follows a series of interconnected stories and characters as they experience different highs and lows of love during Valentine’s Day. Everything from youthful crushes, first dates, and more is featured in this fun, carefree rollercoaster of love. Stream it today on HBO Max.
The Notebook
A personal favorite, The Notebook is one of the most classic love stories. Set in 1940’s South Carolina, the film follows characters Allie (Rachel McAdams) and Noah (Ryan Gosling) as they navigate through World War II and class struggles. Throughout the movie, Allie and Noah are forced apart due to Noah’s responsibilities as a soldier and Allie’s parent’s disapproval of their relationship. However, in the end the two find each other again and build a life together. Stream on Hulu this Valentine’s Day.
These are only a handful of some of the best romantic movies to stream on your home theater projector this Valentine’s Day. What’s your favorite date night movie? We’d love to hear about it!
